We took the popular F9.9 and completely redesigned it to offer even greater efficiency, and enhanced features all built into a smaller and lighter unit. In fact the F9.9 is nearly identical to our 9.9 two-stroke in size. This helps makes it the ideal lightweight outbaord companion promising the legendary Yamaha reliability over a million boaters have come to depend upon.

From small inflatables to aluminum Jon boats, the popular F9.9 does it all. Lightweight, compact and fuel efficient, the F9.9 is ideal for those that want a motor that is easy to take on or off their boat and bring an outboard where they need it. Select models are now available in pearlescent white and traditional grey.

• Pad & fold: An added resting pad means more storage options and improved storage stability, while the redesigned tiller handle allows the stored motor to take up less space. 
• With a twist: The driveshaft on the F9.9 and T9.9 has a special centre section that is narrower than the ends. It is designed to temporarily "twist" should the prop coming into hard contact with an underwater object, protecting the powerhead, propshaft and other vital engine components. 
• Control: The shortened tiller handle is now easier to use than ever before. Its new shift level shape provides better grip for precise shifting.
